| Office... |
We've been moving businesses like yours for years, and this experience will make your move easier for you and your employees. The following 12 steps will help you maintain your company's business schedule as well as making the move less confusing.
- Call us. We are your local Mayflower agent. We have the right people, the right experience and the specialized equipment to do the job competently and economically.
- Select a time when office activity is minimal.
- Determine items that will not be moved and mark each "do not move".
- Color and number code items to be moved. We provide color and numbering codes for your use. Color-coding different areas reduces confusion, time and expense.
- Decide who completes the packing.
- Discard obsolete or seldom used materials.
- Contact any outside services, such as people in charge of your telephone, plumbing, copier and electricity and inform them of the moving date.
- Determine if there are any service agreements on equipment. Many times you need to get permission to move the item from the company you have the agreement with to continue your agreement.
- Ask your staff to do their part. Keep the staff informed on who will be doing the packing and what they will be responsible for in completing the move.
- Assign supervisors to speed up the placement of equipment.
- Contact building managers at both locations. They can help with the mechanics of the move, such as informing tenants of your move, use of elevators, ramps, parking access, etc.
- Don't worry. We are professionals in office moves, and the sooner we're involved in the planning stages, the easier the task.
Your move is unique and requires special planning. Actually, it's two separate moves, moving out, and moving in. Both locations will have special requirements that must be met to assure you a minimum of inconvenience in continuing your day-to-day business.
Let our moving planner help you prepare and organize the timing of your moving activities.
